🚨 Let’s talk about the real reason your content isn’t popping off…

👋Hey there Podcaster!

If you’ve ever wondered why some posts pop while others flop, it’s probably not your message—or even your editing. The truth? You’re probably testing content in ways that lead to burnout, not growth. This week, we’re diving into how to test smarter, get better feedback faster, and finally create visibility that sticks. Plus, we tackle how ADHD can affect creator motivation, the surprising power of reposting older content, and why consistency always beats perfection.

Ready to shift from guessing games to meaningful results? Let’s dive in!

🚨 Let’s talk about the real reason your content isn’t popping off…

It’s not your lighting.
It’s not your editing.
It’s not even your message.

The biggest problem?

🎯 You’re testing content in a way that guarantees burnout—not learning.

Here’s what we’ve been doing wrong (yes, me included):

We over-index on 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 to post and under-index on 𝘩𝘰𝘸 to test it.
Platforms are constantly tweaking the algorithm (lookin’ at you, TikTok 👀) so  we need to stop playing the guessing game and start running smart experiments.

💡 Visibility isn’t just about hitting “publish.” It’s about collecting useful feedback, fast—and knowing what to do with it.

✅ Your best content might be hiding in your “worst” post. You just didn’t give it the right hook or headline. Sometimes, it’s not what you said—it’s how you framed it.

✅ Algorithms don’t reward brilliance. They reward behavior. That means watch time matters more than whether your video is technically “good.” We’ve seen short, low-production reels outperform polished ones, just because people stuck around longer or rewatched them.

✅ Testing doesn’t need to feel chaotic. It can be strategic, sustainable, and energizing if you focus on meaningful metrics—not vanity ones.

🎙 On the Podcasting Morning Chat, we also talked about:

  • How ADHD can affect visibility and motivation for creators
  • Why reposting older content (yes, again) is a smart strategy
  • How to use platforms like Substack (algorithm-free!) to build intentional engagement
  • Why consistency matters more than perfection and how to define that for you

Do you actually test your content before you commit to a direction?
Are you tracking behavior or just hoping for reach?

Because real visibility isn’t just about going viral—it’s about being seen by the right people for the right reasons.

🎙️ Your “Why” Will Change—And That’s a Good Thing

Why did you start podcasting? Chances are, your answer today isn’t the same as when you began—and that’s a sign of growth.

In a recent episode of the Podcasting Morning Chat, we explored how your purpose can evolve over time. Some podcasters started with a desire to perform or share expertise. Others began in response to personal challenges—using the mic as a tool for healing or connection.

What we found: your “why” changes as you change.

🎧 I shared my own journey…from hosting a fantasy football show to leading conversations that support creators and build community.

Other podcasters spoke about launching their shows during difficult times, like natural disasters or postpartum recovery. Their purpose shifted from self-expression to amplifying others and showcasing their skills to clients.

Some discovered that knowing their true audience—their “who”—led to a deeper “why.” They weren’t just sharing content. They were becoming the kind of voice they once needed.

The takeaway: your purpose doesn’t need to stay fixed. Let it evolve. That’s how you grow, serve others, and build stronger connections.

Whether you podcast to uplift, inform, heal, or entertain—your reason is valid. And if it’s changed, you’re not alone.

So, what’s your “why” today? Has it grown with you? Hit reply and tell us. We’d love to feature your story in a future episode or newsletter.
