📢 The Art of a Call to Action
This week in our Empowered Podcasting Clubhouse Room, we talked about the features of effective calls to action (CTAs). We were all in agreement that the number one indicator of success in a CTA is knowing your audience and what they are looking for. Some of the easiest CTA prompts may be asking our listeners to leave a review at the end of an episode, but other times we may want them to do something that requires a little more commitment, like signing up for our next course or attending an event. Regardless of what we’re asking, a CTA encourages our audience to interact with us and our businesses in a way that involves them further than just listening to an episode. CTAs are a powerful tool that we, as podcasters, can utilize to drive engagement and grow our audience. By strategically placing a call to action within our episodes, we can grab the audience’s attention, provide value, encourage interaction, and expand our reach across online platforms. A CTA doesn’t always have to be at the end of an episode either, we recommend placing it mid-roll, as part of the conversation on the podcast. Another recommendation would be to incentivize your listeners to follow through with the CTA, like offering to donate to a relevant charity or enter them in a give-away when they complete the CTA. As podcasting continues to evolve, mastering the art of crafting effective CTAs will be crucial to build a loyal and active listener base.
