Have you ever experienced the magic of Podfest? It’s not just an event; it’s a journey that solidifies the essence of podcasting. Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to immerse myself in this vibrant community – and what a journey it was!

🔊The Power of Diverse Voices

One of the things I love most about podcasting is the opportunity it provides to connect with a diverse array of people from all walks of life. Through podcast interviews, we are fortunate enough to hear the stories and perspectives of individuals from vastly different backgrounds than our own. Many of them have endured or accomplished things we never could have imagined.

Each time I go to Podfest, I’m captivated by the diverse experiences of podcasters who have amazing and powerful stories. Everyone seems genuinely curious about each other’s stories and experiences, making so many beneficial connections.

🧱Breaking Down Barriers

The benefits of podcasting translate well in person at Podfest when we are all face-to-face. People from all walks of life trust in each other enough to share their intimate, sometimes tragic, life details and powerful lessons. Every single conversation I had at Podfest leaves me enlightened, humbled, and in awe of the resilience of the human spirit.

This cross-pollination of ideas is what I find so magical about podcasting and in person events. It pushes me out of my comfort zone and challenges any preconceived notions I may hold. There is so much wisdom out there beyond our own life experience. Podcasting gives us access to that wealth of knowledge. For that, I am incredibly grateful to be in this industry with you. It’s what keeps me passionate about this medium and the diverse people I’m so fortunate to connect with through it.

✍️Learning from Leaders in the Industry

Podfest is also about learning from leaders in the podcasting, entrepreneurial, and creator industries. Here are just a few highlights from Podfest talks that stuck:

  • Stacy Sherman, a member of Empowered Podcasting, delivered an impactful presentation on the importance of customer experience (CX) in podcasting. She emphasized that by prioritizing enhanced CX for your audience, sponsors, and guests, you can significantly elevate your podcast’s reputation. A podcast that excels in CX naturally becomes more noteworthy and shareable, encouraging listeners and guests to not only spread the word but also to eagerly return for more.
  • An engaging presentation on Delphi AI captured my attention. This innovative digital clone technology adapts to your unique personality and expertise. By feeding it content such as your podcast’s RSS feed, it crafts a personalized chatbot that aligns with your style and knowledge. Furthermore, Delphi AI can integrate with your other content platforms, including blogs, YouTube channels, and social media. Impressively, it’s linked with Eleven Labs, enabling it to generate audio responses that mimic your own voice.
  • We received an excellent idea for generating content ideas. If you’re looking for fresh content ideas that address your target audience’s questions and pain points,  spend some time researching youtube videos produced by other creators in your space. Sure, their content alone may be insightful but to really get to the heart of your audience’s needs, read through the comments on those videos and learn what people are asking. Then, go out and make a podcast episode about that! . These questions can be a goldmine for content in your upcoming videos.

As I reflect on this incredible experience, I’m filled with gratitude and excitement for the future of podcasting…and for our own live event in June!

🙌🏿Celebrating Black Voices in Podcasting

In February we are celebrating Black History Month with podcast recommendations hosted by Black voices. Have a podcast you want to recommend? Reply and let me know!

This Week’s Highlight: Black is America

Black is America Podcast hosted by our own Clubhouse Empowered Podcasting club moderator, multi-award winning Dominic Lawson. His podcast has won over 20 awards, including a Webby! Dominic’s story of success as a podcaster is certainly motivational for us all.

The podcast highlights less-known Black historical figures and stories. Dominic tells the story of America through the lens of the African American experience. Be prepared to hear stories of inventors, heroes, scientists, entrepreneurs, and so many more.

Black is America is unique as a podcast because it creates an audio storytelling adventure. Due to the quality of the audio experience, each episode takes several weeks or more to produce. Give your ears a history lesson they won’t regret and take a listen!

🆕Beta Custom GPT Mentions

I was in ChatGPT and saw a pop-up message (shown above) that there is a new Beta feature that I really love!

ChatGPT now features a new Beta option for ChatGPT Plus users, that enhances user interaction with custom GPTs. By typing “@” in the prompt, users can access a list of custom GPTs, streamlining the selection process. This functionality allows for seamless switching between different custom GPTs within a single conversation, eliminating the need for separate conversations for each GPT.

The responses are conveniently labeled with the corresponding custom GPT’s name. Additionally, the “@” search feature isn’t limited to the GPT’s name; it also references the text associated with each GPT. This feature significantly improves workflow efficiency and saves time, offering a more integrated and user-friendly experience.

I even tested the feature to see if a newly mentioned GPT would understand the conversation with a previous GPT further up in the conversation, and it worked!  More to come as we learn more about this feature over at NextGenPodcaster.com!

I’m so grateful to be connected with you and a part of your podcast journey.

All My Best,
