✈️Podfest Was a Growth Journey

I was so pumped to go to Podfest last week, but honestly was a bit anxious 😰and had self-doubt upon arrival on Wednesday evening. I talked about it in depth during our Thursday morning Clubhouse room last week and got some great advice👍from fellow podcasters on how to handle it. I used that advice real-time that day, and my mindset improved by meeting 🤝 some great podcasters. These conferences are really a step-up to meet potential collaborators, colleagues, and friends. Aren’t podcasters the best? I even met face-to-face for the first time with some of our own Empowered Podcasting Clubhouse crew as well and posted pics📷 in our Facebook group. If you went, post some of your own Podfest pics there as well!

I got to speak on two panels at the event and look forward to the next opportunity to do so. I really loved that experience. We discussed in detail the recap of Podfest in Monday morning’s Clubhouse room, take a listen!

💩Get Ready for Some “Shitty” Motivation

On Monday, I also talked about my biggest takeaway from Podfest, which is how I got through that mindset block from the beginning of the event when I had self-doubt. I got more confidence by shifting my mindset and owning both my shit 💩 and my shine 🌟. I’m not talking about polishing a turd here, I am talking about the good (shine) and the grind (shit) about yourself and to embrace them both. Let’s dig deeper into some “shitty” motivation!👇

💩You might get lost in the grind/shit that you have to do day-in and day-out.

💩Don’t diminish that hard work you put into your podcast, it’s a grind sometimes, right?! Guest booking, scheduling, recording, editing, show notes, titles, uploading, promoting, etc.

💩Think about all you do professionally for your podcast, work, business, colleagues, co-workers, co-hosts, collaborators, listeners, social media, marketing, clients, growth, etc.

💩It’s a lot to embrace and it’s not all you got going on either! Big pat on the back for everything you do!

💩If you are giving too much power to all of these challenges/struggles, or thinking less of yourself because of it, you are not alone! But that’s not the way to think. Because you’ll get stuck there, waist deep in it! 🤢

I was getting a little too caught up in my 💩 last Wednesday night at Podfest. But then I embraced it, learned from it, and saw clearly I had more than just the usual 💩 to offer, I had some serious 🌟 as well, and so do you! Learn about 🌟with me! 👇

🌟Embrace your greatness, don’t forget about that great shine you’re capable of. You have those extra special things that YOU are amazing at, don’t ignore that or think it’s not amazing. When you see someone else shining, don’t think you can’t shine as well. You were born with something great, you continued to grow in that greatness, and that growth: it’s still happening.

🌟What’s your shine? Ask a colleague or ask yourself: What do you bring to the table in certain situations? What do people come to you for advice for? What is easy and fun for you that others struggle with? What are your unique qualities and talents? What have you accomplished in the past that you are proud of? What is very important to you that you make sure is done right? What keeps you awake at night when your mind is racing with business ideas about something that excites you? What can you do better than AI can?

🌟Surround yourself with positive, supportive, and motivational people and seek help/support when you need it (join us on Clubhouse)!

🌟Celebrate your achievements along the way and maintain a growth mindset, being flexible and embracing challenges as opportunities for learning.

Remember, we’re not polishing a turd here, we’re celebrating the 💩 we gotta do and get done, and the 🌟 we always had and keep growing with!

Were you at Podfest this past week? Reply and let me know your biggest takeaway and if you had a growth journey as well!

🧠Podcasts are Good for your Brain!

Why are podcasters and podcast listeners so smart? Because podcasts are good for your brain! Check out my Reel about it here and more info below.👇

🧠Podcasts stimulate different parts of your brain and trigger hormones that help you feel better in different ways.

🧠Meditation podcasts can help you relax and unwind. By activating your brain stem, thalamus, and auditory cortex, your brain releases oxytocin which is a hormone that helps you feel more relaxed. So if you’re looking to destress after a long day, try a meditation podcast to give your brain a break.

🧠True crime podcasts are perfect for those who love a good adrenaline rush. By stimulating your medulla oblongata, your brain releases adrenaline which makes you feel more energized. So if you’re feeling a little sluggish, turn on a true crime podcast and get your brain going!

🧠Comedy podcasts are a great way to boost your mood and reduce stress. By activating your cerebral cortex, these podcasts trigger happiness and lower stress levels. So next time you’re feeling down, turn on a comedy podcast and let the laughter begin!

When listening to podcasts, you’re not only being entertained, but you’re also giving your brain a workout. Reply and let me know if you notice an effect happening with your mood and/or mindset when listening to podcasts.

I’m so grateful to be connected with you and a part of your podcast journey.

All My Best,

👋Marc Ronick
